Ps100

What do you get when you put together four men who love the Lord and want to rock, groove, harmonize and do it all while putting forth a positive message that honors the Lord? You get the Christian rock band Ps100.

Ps100 is Russ Peters, an energetic singer-songwriter and electric/acoustic guitar player, along with Mike Stamp on drums, Tom Smith on bass, and recently added Cliff Cline on lead guitar.

Peters grew up listening to classic rockers like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Boston, and Journey, along with the mellower sounds of James Taylor and Jim Croce, so his original songs reflect some of those influences. His bandmates cite U2, Third Day, Paul Baloche, Chris Tomlin, and Lincoln Brewster as artists who’ve also influenced Ps100′s sound and style. The rock-worship band plays before all sorts of audiences, from teens to people in their 50s, and have received an enthusiastic response at events like the Ramble Music & Arts Festival in Batavia, New York, and Kingdom Bound Music Festival in Darien Center, New York.

“We work very hard and intentionally put difficult-to-play rhythms and runs in our music to give it that ‘full’ sound” says Peters.

One of the band’s most popular songs right now is “I Need You.”

Ps100 has two CDs out--“Movin’ On" and "The Other Side"-- Stamp cites “I Will Cry,” “Movin’ On,” and “Dance, Dance" as three stand-outs from the recordings that people love to hear played live.

You can find “Movin’ On” and "The Other Side" on itunes, or at several stores in Western New York, including Bender’s Christian Supply in Williamsville, Roxy’s Music Store in Batavia, The Book Shoppe in Medina, and also Pathways Christian Book Store in Lockport.

Ps100’s music is both sincere and passionate. At times “crank it up” rock, and other times “make you cry” worship, Ps100 makes music that can be summed up in one word: redemptive.

“Hopefully, our music serves the same purpose as music did in ancient times— sharing beautiful truths and encouraging words, lifting the countenance of the downtrodden, and making proclamations of the Holiness of our God,” says Smith.

Jesus is the reason why each band member sings and plays music. When they’re not together, each member is part of their own church praise team. And when they’re not making music, they’re busy being good dads to all their kids—among the four dads are 14 young ones!

“Ps100 is very happy to play anywhere people will have us,” concludes Stamp.
